Wildlife Wood Cookies

Wildlife Wood Cookies

Painting with Kevin Ball, Portland Middle School Mentor, and Roberta Stone, Teaching Artist

At the beginning of the school year, in honor of the wildlife theme, Caldera students picked animals that represented them or that they could connect to in some way. In the spring, students worked with Portland Middle School Mentor Kevin Ball and teaching artist Roberta Stone to create paintings of their chosen animal. At camp we use small wood “cookies” as name tags, so for this project we used large wood cookies as a canvas for the animal paintings.

Students: All Portland middle school students. Featured works by Jason Lee students Bow Bow, Fox-C, Kit Kat, Sister II, Skin Walker, Stitch.

Location: Mentoring Classes at Caldera Arts Partner Middle Schools

Year: 2015
