SILENT FILM with Posie Currin

High school students learned the craft of storytelling in silent cinema over three immersive days at the Caldera office, Northwest Film Center and streets of downtown Portland. Posie Currin led students on an exploration through the dawn of cinema and film technology and culture. The project culminated in an original short film written, produced, filmed and edited by Caldera students. Along the way, students learned the process of storyboarding, filming, stop-motion animation, and had extensive practice using digital camera equipment and modern editing software. The resulting student film, titled Missed Connections was accepted to the International Youth Silent Film Festival.
