Arist in Residence Program Hard at Work

Each year Caldera’s Artist in Residence (AiR) program collaborates with top national and international artists. And while the residency itself takes place during the winter months (including the Open Studios in January, February, and March), Summer means our AiR team is busy finding the best and brightest to take part. Currently, 15 panelists are at work reviewing almost 100 applications submitted for our upcoming residency positions. In mid-September, panelists will meet and make their final selections. Shortly thereafter, AiR will announce the 15 artists who will participate as 2013 Caldera residents.

This year AiR is doing more than just finding the right applicants. AiR has recently launched outreach projects to alumni. This outreach will create a program that not only can better promote the amazing work of its alumni but also give those alumni opportunities to work more closely with Caldera youth. Part of this outreach includes the circulation of the first-ever Caldera AiR Alumni Newsletter that features opportunities to get involved with Caldera and keeps them up to date on Caldera and one another’s activities. AiR has also created a new page on the Caldera website called Alumni Connect where alumni events, awards, exhibits, performances, etc. will be posted and linked to social media. Another piece to the program is the development of an email list-serv for alumni to network with one another.  If you are a Caldera residency alum and have not connected, please email our AiR Manager, Elizabeth Quinn.

Caldera looks forward to years of sharing and working together with its alumni.
