Google Arts and Culture

Google Arts & Culture is celebrating Portland – showcasing the city’s artistic flair, rich and diverse culinary scene, and its iconic natural scenery — to paint a vibrant picture of Oregon’s creative capital. 16 Portland partners have come together to celebrate the city’s cultural DNA and evolution from a logging town to a center of creativity. Through 75+ captivating stories, anyone anywhere can immerse themselves in Oregon’s enduring Indigenous and Asian roots, learn about the city’s award-winning cuisine, and discover up-and-coming artists. This project gives an opportunity for Portlanders to rediscover their own city, and inspire newcomers; from the serenity of Japanese gardens to the energy of the longest-running African Film Festival in the U.S. 

Together, these cultural institutions paint a picture of a rich and vibrant city, and Google Arts & Culture is proud to act as a connective tissue bringing these organizations together online the way that the city brings them together on the ground.
